About VisitKohSamui.com

An independent guide to Koh Samui, written for people who want to choose well — and see more than the sunbed.

VisitKohSamui.com exists to help you get the most out of Koh Samui — which beach actually suits you, how the flights, ferries and seasons work, which boat trips and tours are worth the money, and how to get around the island safely.

What we cover

  • How to reach Koh Samui by air or by ferry via Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat, with realistic journey times.
  • Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
  • What to see — the beaches, the Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem, waterfalls, Ang Thong Marine Park, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Pig Island.
  • Where to stay, beach by beach, for every budget.
  • When to come, and why Samui’s rainy season is different from the rest of Thailand’s.

How we research

Schedules, seasons and fees are checked against operators, the national park and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel availability is checked on Trip.com. Where a figure moves around — fares, park fees, closure dates, entry rules — we give a range and say so, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.

Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a trip means a rough crossing, when a cheaper option is the better one, and when the weather makes something not worth doing.

How the site is funded

We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Timetables change, fees change, hotels change hands. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.
