Koh Samui Tours & Tickets

Every trip worth taking on and around Koh Samui — compared, priced and bookable in a couple of taps.

Koh Samui has one of the largest choices of tours in Thailand, and the quality varies a great deal. We have narrowed several hundred listings down to twenty that we would be happy to book ourselves: the essential boat trips, the best land tours, a few genuinely good experiences and the transfers that save real hassle.

Everything here is booked through GetYourGuide, which means live availability, free cancellation on most options and reserve-now-pay-later on many. Prices are indicative “from” amounts in euros — the operators charge in Thai baht, so the figure moves with the exchange rate. Tap any card for the live price in your own currency.

One honest gap: GetYourGuide’s Samui catalogue has very few spa and massage listings. For wellness, see the notes in our travel guide and book directly with the spa.

Pick by the kind of day you want

Ang Thong Marine Park

The classic day out: 42 limestone islands, a viewpoint, an emerald lagoon and kayaking — by big boat or speedboat.

A passenger sunbathing on the deck of a boat among the islands of Ang Thong Full-day boat cruise from €33
🕒 9 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.4 (5,257)

Koh Samui: Mu Ko Ang Thong Park Cruise with Kayaking Option

The classic, good-value way to see Ang Thong. A big boat is slower than a speedboat but far steadier, with room to move about and shade on deck — a real advantage for families and anyone prone to seasickness. Kayaking is offered as an add-on, so check which option you are booking.

  • Full day in Ang Thong National Marine Park on a large, stable boat
  • Viewpoint and Emerald Lake stops, with optional kayaking
  • The most-reviewed Ang Thong trip in the GetYourGuide feed
Boats anchored in a turquoise bay seen from a viewpoint in Ang Thong Marine Park Full-day speedboat trip from €61
🕒 8 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.6 (1,509)

Samui: Angthong National Marine Park Day Trip by Speedboat

The speedboat version of the Ang Thong day: a quicker crossing and a slightly shorter day than the big boats, at a higher price. Speedboats ride hard when the sea is choppy, so they are not ideal for bad backs, pregnancy or very young children.

  • Faster crossing means more time in the park
  • Snorkelling, the Emerald Lake and the Ko Wua Talap viewpoint
  • Well over a thousand reviews

Snorkelling and island trips

A half-day to Pig Island and Koh Tan, a long day to Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan, or a slow cruise along Koh Phangan.

Green hills and clear shallow water off Koh Tan, south of Koh Samui Half-day boat trip from €37
🕒 3–5 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.5 (5,584)

Pig Island by Speed Boat with Buffet Lunch

The most-booked short boat trip from Samui, with several thousand reviews. A speedboat runs from the south coast to Koh Tan for snorkelling and on to Koh Madsum, where the resident pigs trot along the sand. It only takes half a day, so it fits easily around beach time.

  • Meet the pigs on the beach at Koh Madsum
  • Snorkelling stop off Koh Tan
  • Buffet lunch included
The sandbar between the islets of Koh Nang Yuan seen from above Full-day snorkelling trip from €56
🕒 10 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.4 (794)

From Samui: Ko Tao and Koh Nang Yuan Speedboat Day Trip

A long day, but the snorkelling around Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan is the best within reach of Samui. The open-sea crossing can be rough outside the calm months, and trips are cancelled in bad weather — book early in your stay so there is room to reschedule.

  • Snorkelling stops around Koh Tao
  • Time on Koh Nang Yuan’s sandbar and viewpoint
  • Speedboat crossing from Samui

On the island

Sightseeing loops, 4WD safaris into the jungle, ziplines, elephant sanctuaries, a cooking class and a Muay Thai night.

The golden Big Buddha statue of Wat Phra Yai against the sky Sightseeing tour from €22
🕒 5 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.7 (4,326)

Koh Samui: Half-Day Highlight Tour + Elephant Camp Option

A quick, inexpensive orientation loop of the ring road’s best-known sights, ideal for your first or second day. We would skip the optional elephant-camp add-on and visit one of the island’s observation-only sanctuaries separately instead.

  • The island’s main landmarks by air-conditioned minivan
  • Temples, viewpoints and the famous rocks in one loop
  • Low price and thousands of reviews
View over palm-covered hills and the sea from high ground on Koh Samui Jeep safari from €42
🕒 6–7.5 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.7 (3,448)

Koh Samui: Mr. Ung’s 4WD Wild Jungle Safari Tour with Lunch

The best-reviewed land tour on the island. An open-backed 4WD climbs tracks that ordinary rental cars and scooters should not attempt, linking the sights of Samui’s mountainous middle in one day. Expect a bumpy, dusty, fun ride; check the listing for the exact stops on your date.

  • Open 4WD up steep tracks into the island’s interior
  • Typically includes a waterfall, hill viewpoints and the Secret Buddha Garden
  • Lunch included
Coconut palms silhouetted against a deep blue evening sky on Koh Samui Wildlife experience from €101
🕒 5 hours 📍 From Koh Samui (hotel pickup) ⭐ 4.9 (327)

Koh Samui: Ethical Elephant Sanctuary Tour with Buffet Lunch

A longer, more considered sanctuary visit with near-perfect reviews. You walk with a guide, learn each elephant’s story and watch them forage and socialise. It costs considerably more than the short feeding visits, and is the one we would choose.

  • Unhurried half-day with rescued elephants
  • Observation and feeding, no riding
  • Thai buffet lunch included

Getting there and away

Airport transfers, the budget ferry from Surat Thani and boats on to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao — including Full Moon Party night.

The open-air drop-off area at Samui International Airport Private transfer from €38 per group
🕒 Up to 1 hour 📍 From Samui International Airport (USM) ⭐ 4.8 (288)

Koh Samui: Airport Private Transfer with Meet & Greet

A pre-paid private car between the airport and your hotel. Samui’s taxis rarely use the meter, so a fixed-price transfer removes the haggling after a long flight — particularly useful for the far west and south coasts.

  • Driver waiting at arrivals
  • Fixed price per vehicle, agreed in advance
  • To or from any hotel on the island
A Seatran car ferry at Donsak Pier on the mainland Bus & ferry ticket from €8

From Suratthani: One-Way Ferry to Koh Samui

The cheap alternative to flying into Samui: a joint ticket that gets you from Surat Thani to the pier at Donsak and across on the car ferry. Combined with a low-cost flight to Surat Thani it often costs far less than a direct flight, at the price of several extra hours.

  • The budget route to Samui

Koh Samui: High-Speed Ferry Transfer to/from Ko Pha Ngan

A pre-booked seat on the high-speed ferry between Samui and Koh Phangan, with options that add a road transfer at the Samui end. Useful in peak season and around the Full Moon Party, when boats fill up.

  • Options with hotel or airport transfer
  • Thousands of reviews
Longtail boats on Haad Rin Sunrise Beach, Koh Phangan Return boat transfer from €37
🕒 7 hours 📍 From Koh Samui ⭐ 3.9 (69)

Koh Samui: Full Moon Party Transfer by Speedboat

A night-time return transfer for people who want the Full Moon Party without moving to Koh Phangan. Reviews are mixed — crowded boats and long waits for the ride home are the usual complaints — so read them, and never board a boat that looks overloaded or has no life jackets.

  • Return speedboat to Haad Rin on party night
  • Sleep in your own bed on Samui
  • No need to find a room on Koh Phangan

Good to know

Koh Samui tours: frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do tours include hotel pickup?

Most boat trips and land tours include shared minivan pickup from hotels in the main beach areas. Remote hotels in the south and west, and private villas up steep roads, sometimes pay a supplement or need to meet at a pickup point. Check the “meeting point” section of each listing.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Boat trips are cancelled when the sea is unsafe, most often between October and December. With GetYourGuide you are offered another date or a refund. Book sea trips early in your stay so you have room to reschedule.

Are national park fees included?

It depends on the operator. The Ang Thong park fee and the Koh Nang Yuan landing fee are included in some tours and collected in cash on the day in others. The listing’s “includes / not included” section tells you which.

Should I book in advance or on the island?

Street-side agencies sell the same trips, and prices are similar. Booking ahead mainly gives you reviews you can trust, a guaranteed place in peak months (July–August and Christmas to February) and free cancellation.

Are elephant experiences on Samui ethical?

Some are and some are not. Choose sanctuaries where elephants are observed and fed rather than ridden, bathed or made to perform. We explain what to look for in the travel guide.
